  • This web page · browser sampleIt offers no chooser for your own files, accepts no upload and makes no request to a service on your computer. Every document shown ships with the page, and downloads are created in the browser tab.
  • The Windows preview · separate downloadYou choose the folder it may read and the local directory it writes to; there is no whole-computer indexing. Parsing, storage and the file utilities run on your machine. Document answering needs a compatible model and runtime that you install, and scheduled routines run only while the launcher stays open.

Installation requirements

  • Windows x64Extract the package and keep Start-Desk.cmd beside the source folder.
  • Python 3.11 or laterTested on 3.11.9. The included script builds a separate runtime with PyMuPDF 1.28.0.
  • A model runtime you installOllama on 127.0.0.1:11439, with qwen3:4b for answers (about 2.5 GB) and embeddinggemma for retrieval. Downloading them needs internet; a GGUF file you already hold can be imported instead.
  • Tesseract, for scanned pagesEnglish language data. Without it a scanned page returns an explicit error.
  • A data folder outside OneDriveThe launcher shows the location and asks you to confirm it. OneDrive paths are refused.
  • The launcher stays openJobs and routines run only while the service is open; nothing continues after shutdown.

Are the invoice amounts real?

No. Every name, project and amount on this page is fictional SAMPLE data. The displayed totals are calculated from those sample rows.

Can I use my own documents on this page?

No. The browser sample reads only the four SAMPLE documents bundled with it. Choosing your own folder belongs to the installed Windows preview.
